BIKE SAFETY TIPS

Bike riding is a lot of fun, but accidents happen. That is why teaching our kids about road safety is very important. There’s no reason why children can’t enjoy the freedom of cycling. Cycling is freedom; especially to children from 10-15 years of age. Suddenly the far around on your own for the first time. But to cycle safely can only be trained in one way - in traffic with an adult. Once your child is confident on their bike, getting them used to cycling on the roads will develop them in many ways. Before you pull your puky cykel out of the garage, let's find out how to stay safe on two wheels.

Follow these safety tips  to help you and your child stay safe when cycling:
  • Make sure your child's puky løbecykel fits and that all your bikes are roadworthy. Everyone is happy for a new bike. But traditional children's bikes are heavy, of questionable quality and rather expensive and therefore not really advisable for puky cykel tilbud learners.
  • If you're on the road with children, take up a position behind them. If there are two adults in your group, it's a good idea to have one at the back and one in front of the children. When the child is big enough and will cycle itself, it must continue to take place with you behind and in front of the child. The only way you can follow the child's attention and direct it to where traffic demands.
  • Skaterhjelm are particulary recommended for young children. Ultimately, wearing a helmet is a question of individual choice and parents need to make a choice for their children. Wear a bike skaterhjelm EVERY TIME YOU RIDE, even if you are going for a short ride.
  • Check equipment periodically, children should cycle points the way through by an adult - either a parent or bicycle mechanic. In contrast to the experienced cyclist who sense if something is not working, the child has a tendency to proceed with critical defects. As you are checking out the puky løbecykel, then consider whether it should be resized since children are growing all the time.
  • Use bike lanes or designated bike routes wherever you can.
  • Always ride with your hands on the handlebars.
  • Set a good example, follow the highway code and teach children road safety and awareness.

Bikeability is 'cycling proficiency' for the 21st century, created to give everyone the skills and confidence for all kinds of cycling. Have a nice trip!
